In a world with an abundance of information, including content written in hundreds of languages, NGO Languages offers services aimed at strategically dissecting these volumes of reports, articles, and white papers so that an organization can pinpoint what it really needs to know in detail while maintaining the confidence that it has reviewed most/all of what has been written. These services can be used as individual, stand-alone services or be combined to precisely translate content that is identified as most valuable for knowledge.
Discovery Translations
When an NGO encounters a report, or any section therein, that it knows contains information that is useful to understand, then NGO Languages offers this affordable translation service for a word-for-word translation of the content. “Discovery” is different than a full gold standard translation in that it is both faster and more affordable.
In essence, it is a blend of machine translation plus a human SME-appropriate linguist to raise the accuracy to above 95% accuracy – sufficient to grasp all the intent of the author’s premises, logic, supporting information and conclusions. This service reduces translation costs by about 40% and can be accomplished in about 50% less time over the full language translation service.
TOC-Abstract Translations
Often NGO officials and analysts encounter a series of reports, written in a language they are not fluent in, and simply want to know what the report(s) contain. In other words, what is the scope of a given report’s content? NGO Languages offers a service whereby the Table of Contents and every section/chapter’s sub-headers are translated.
In addition, if the report contains an abstract or executive summary, then we will provide a full translation of this section in the desired target language. Armed with this scope information, decision-makers can then target specific sections within the report for a Discovery Translation, Research Summary Overview, or a full translation to gain the level of understanding desired.
Research Summaries
This service provides NGOs with SME linguist reviews of foreign language reports with summaries provided in the target language of the analyst wanting to know the highlights of the reports. Summaries can be bulletized main points, or, paragraph(s) of information.
When an NGO analyst or decision-maker does not have the time or the language competency to read reports, but wants to know the gist or conclusions of the information, this is the service for them.
